Senior Payroll Specialist

We are partnering with a world-leading global healthcare and medical diagnostics innovator dedicated to helping people live fuller, healthier lives through life-changing technologies. This newly created permanent position is a rare opportunity to join a small, friendly, and close-knit team where you won't just be processing numbers.

Reporting into the Finance function, you will enjoy an easy-going, open-plan office environment. You will manage a hybrid schedule with great ad-hoc flexibility for life's personal appointments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take initial ownership of processing a fortnightly New Zealand manufacturing payroll for approximately 200 employees, ensuring strict compliance with NZ legislation and individual contracts.

  • Play a foundational role in an upcoming system transformation, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for a brand-new Workday Timekeeping rollout.

  • Assist with payroll process design, operational readiness activities, and data mapping ahead of a new system go-live.

  • Act as the third core member of the team, expanding beyond traditional payroll to support employee wellbeing and special projects.

  • Resolve internal employee queries confidently, taking the initiative to break down complex processing steps or legislative policies clearly.

What we are looking for

  • Clear, exceptional verbal and written communication skills are strictly essential; you must be highly articulate and able to explain end-to-end payroll workflows to stakeholders at all levels.

  • Proven end-to-end, in-house payroll processing experience across multi-entity frameworks.

  • A strong, practical understanding of New Zealand payroll legislation and compliance frameworks.

  • Experience with ADP Payforce and Workday Timekeeping is highly desirable, though candidates with strong system logic and no prior ADP experience are welcome to apply.

  • A proactive, self-managing mindset with the confidence to share improvements and problem-solving suggestions, taking ownership of errors.

  • Exposure to system migrations, software testing, or project readiness activities will be highly advantageous.

What’s on offer

  • Premium site perks including secure free parking, onsite gym, barista facilities, and lunchtime fitness classes.

  • A warm, highly stable team environment that values absolute honesty, collaborative growth, and continuous learning.

At Randstad, we are passionate about providing equal employment opportunities and embracing diversity to the benefit of all. We actively encourage applications from any background.
